Rage was pretty fun and it had some pretty good enemy AI. Although I totally agree, the game had a totally shit ending. Plus you get the BFG so late in the game that you barely get a chance to use it at all. Would probably be a lot more fun co-op though.
Why Drag doesn't need a car
Playing through on Nightmare, some of those enemies are wicked smart. Especially the brawler mutants that charge you -- they dodge very well. I was genuinely impressed. And the game looks gorgeous, although holy fuck texture pop ins.Still, it was fun, just... felt unfinished, I suppose.
Still gotta do a 100% playthrough (definitely doing that one on Easy), then some co-op stuff. I'm also contemplating playing something else for the moment 'cause that ending just made me so mad.

Yes, but I figure I might as well hope for games that might come out before I die.
Also why I take the grass path to work every day.
I've heard that too, and have hardly seen anything about it, and it's been in production for over four years now.
Carmack also stated that it's "going to be even more awesome than Rage." Which now officially has me worried.
Carmack has said he'd like to revisit the Lovecraftian, eldritch thing for Quake 5, but whether it'll happen is anyone's guess. I read Masters of Doom years ago and could have sworn the fantasy elements of Q1 were more Romero's doing though, whereas Carmack outright hated them and deliberately went full on sci-fi for Q2 with Romero out of the picture. God knows.
It's funny, I've never once ever played a Quake game.
I'm going to buy Doom 3 for PS3 after I clear a couple more games from my backlog. I fucking love Doom. id has always been one of my favourite studios -- it's too bad they don't put out a lot of games anymore.
