Game Purchases Thread

Picked up a Turtle Beach headset today, finally (xp400) and got a cheap copy of Splatterhouse for 360. ChopTop had recommended it so I finally got around to getting it.

Haven't posted my last couple of purchases, nothing extravagant.

Spec Ops The Line £15.49 posted. Heard it's got a good story, but so-so cover based third person shooter gameplay.
Duke Nukem Forever £3.99 posted. Yeah it's pretty crap but it was only £3.99.
Medal of Honor £3.99 psoted. Again, cheap as chips. Decent enough game, I suppose...

Also just won a copy of Hitman Blood Money for £7, as I'd like to try and play through it again before Absolution is upon us.

Duke Nukem Forever was decent. It's definitely not great, but it's not as bad as people were making it out to be. I really want to play Spec Ops: The Line, though... it sounds fascinating.

After work yesterday morning I picked up Resident Evil 6 on the way home, used a $25 gift card that I got from my Dad the other day. Despite everyone's OHGODIT'SGOINGTOBETHEWORSTGAEMEVAR feelings, I've been excited about it for ages, especially because I knew I'd be getting bigger pay checks than when I was working at the mall and could probably actually pick a game up on release for once.

So far, I'm satisfied.

Oh, and I forgot to mention that the day I picked it up was the very last day before my Rewards card expired. I knew it was getting close, but I was a still a little impressed with my timing.

Heres something to tie into this.

My birthday was wednesday and my mom wrote on my fb wall "i bought you something youve wanted since this summer." I called her and it turned out she had bought me a BLENDER of all things cause when I had stayed with her for a week I wanted to make smoothies and had to use a mixer to do it with since their blender didnt work. I half expect she bought it since she could keep it for herself if I didnt want it. Years back she threw a surprise party at a restaurant I didnt like cause she wanted to throw a home welcoming event for herself and we had the same friends. Then the next year she refused to believe all that I wanted was just return Devil May Cry 2 and buy a different game and play that for my birthday. Now last night we went to dinner since my dad was in the hospital and we stopped to eat after seeing him (hes got released today, just a minor over night stay for an infection), and she told me that she wanted to buy me a Wii for Christmas. No, not a Wii U, just a Wii. I half expected her to give me the Wii her roomate bought and then never uses(he even said to me he forgot why he bought it), and I really hope she wasnt going to buy me that thing. I dont mean to come off as a brat, but my dad and I barely manage to eat the last day before his or her check comes in each week, so I cant afford to use the blender.

As for the Wii, I hate the freakin thing and everything it stands for. Why do moms like this thing? I overheard two moms years ago talk about how they couldnt believe how their sons wouldnt play with the Wii's the y bought for them and instead played XBOXes. Enough ranting there though. My mom didnt even know the Wii U is coming out and I talked to her about how I wanted the NEO GEO, she had a look on her face like she couldnt believe I wanted that and wasnt listening. ugh. She does that when she doesnt understand stuff and instead of listen, I bet shes going to buy me a Wii U now. Hope she doesnt.

Just received my Japanese version of the original Phantasy Star for the Sega Mark III. Still waiting for the Japanese versions of PS2 and PS4 though.

Wai Xing Zhan Shi (Phantasy Star IV Chinese pirate) for Famicom. Second one I bought, seeing as how the first one I purchased doesn't even work. This one is a different revision though, with different cover/manual artwork as well.

Slowly but surely adding to my Phantasy Star collection.

AC: Revelations. I hear this one has the shitty tower defense minigame. Ugh. But I've kinda become an AC whore over the years. Gotta play 'em all and such.

Just won an auction for a Phantasy Star II hintbook in great condition. Picked it up for $16 shipped. Almost lost the auction at the last second, still a great price.

I have still yet to receive my Japanese copies of Phantasy Star 2 & 4 though. Damn seller hasn't even mark it as sent and no tracking number. I'm crossing my fingers that they will be here tomorrow.

I think Im gonna start a PS2 and Dreamcast collection. Got a copy of Soul Calibur for $15, which is about what its going for on ebay. Also got a demo disc for Dreamcast and a Dragon Quest 8 demo disc each for $1. I like the art work on them.

Im hoping the next games I get are Stretch Panic, Soul Calibur 2, Jet Grind Radio, Space Channel 5 and Dead or Alive 2. Depends if theyre there when I go there next and how much I have.

FINALLY GOT A SNES!! ive never owned one, always used to hire them out from vid store back in the day and then emulated heaps, but never actually owned one,there pretty rare over here now
