Cause if you did, you'd be owned by EVERY enemy up to level 20, and hell if that does any help beside piss you off after realizing your MP is way lower than the spells you use often require of it. Leveling up is a chore and finding helpful "boosts" aren't so helpful after realizing you and 5+ enemies are in a small place with no means of escape.

I forgot to mention there's no such thing as currency, so the items you get are valuable.

Less item grabs from enemies + no ability to stack up on items in towns = Fucked as soon as you use your last loaf of bread and exaust all your mp.

Going to have to give that a shot again, last time about 2 years ago I was going through it. Made it pretty far, not long after I got my 6th star spirit my save got corrupted for some rason and lost all my progress.

Quest 64? Aw hell nah. I owned the original cart when I had a N64. The amount of leveling to beat the first boss was ridiculous. I wanted to enjoy it but ended up loathing it.

I just finished playing Paper Mario not that long ago. Such a fun game. That's the only thing I didn't like about the 64, was the lack of RPG's.
