I have to admit... The game will probably be pretty good.

But it's a shame they just didn't end the Halo franchise there.

The ending of Halo 3 was just beautiful.

It would have been an amazing conclusion to an amazing game.

yes it was a good ending, but microsoft and 343 want to make some more money out of it.

i have no doubt the gameplay will be good but lets hope they don't make a joke of the storyline.

also i want to point this out, at the end of halo wars (yes i played that) they put forge in cryogenic storage so you think they will ever bring him back?

ok so halo 4 is out for the 360 and everyone thinks that it will also be released on the next xbox console, so will you guys buy the 360 one or wait for the new console and get it then?

Thought I would have this reopened since there has been a lot more details released about Halo 4 since the thread was closed. Here goes


Anyone else besides me totally pumped that they are ditching the needle and focus rifles and bringing back the carbine and beam rifle?

The if you don't capture a territory you lose sort of reminds me on of how on Battlefield 2: MC if your team didnt control a flag you could not spawn, and once everyone on your team was dead, the game ended.

Making it so you cannot drop the flag once you pick it up, no more juggling! and only being allowed to use your sidearm will make teamwork to get the flag that much more necessary
although the premise that you automatically pick up the flag is eh....it could screw you over in ways.

Now that more stuff has come out for it, I know where my first paycheck at work is going.

Also, I'm gonna be buying Black Ops 2. But that's beside the point.

I think the addition of The Flood Mode was pretty cool. I like it, and I like the new weapons too.

I made a copy the other night, popped it in the XBOX, and I am completely happy with it. While I would have liked to see the franchise end earlier, this one seems like a keeper so far. I only had time to play through the first 2 levels, but I forgot how much I missed Master Chief. Most of the old weapons are back including the bad ass service pistol. All the weapons actually FEEL like they are way more powerful now due to the extra impact and spatter effects. The sound is top notch. The story so far is intriguing. Trying to get back to Earth to find the Doc and save Cortana. Chief shows a soft spot for her which I find interesting. I was actually very impressed with the latest release so far. I know, I shouldn't be playing it early, but I just can't wait. I'm still going to buy the original copy to put on my shelf with all of the other Halo games I have. I would advise anybody who loves the series to go ahead and give this one a shot. While the gameplay is about the same as it always has been, a new story and a new world is always a good way to keep you lifted. I commend them on their efforts to make this one another legit sequel. Also, I do not condone piracy, I just like to test before I buy. Sixty dollars is a lot of money to throw down on a flop game. Please don't flame me for playing early.

So it still plays like the other Halo games?? R3 click for zoom, etc? I like Halo, but I was really hoping for an overhauled control scheme. I enjoyed Reach, but I spent a lot of time fighting with the controls because to me they just felt archaic. I know not every game needs to play like Call of Battlefield Medal of Honor but I think it's time for a change.

I'd probably get Halo 4, along with Halo 3, ODST, and Reach if they came out on PC.

That's a big IF though.

Or maybe just wait till someone makes an Xbox 360 emulator?

The controls are a little different than before. Even with a bunch of presets to choose from, I still couldn't get really comfortable. A few of the controls are set to dumb buttons in all of the schemes. I can't find a perfect control scheme. It always seems like there is one button that ends up in a horrible spot. I wish they had an original HALO 1 scheme. It's a bit annoying to change your style after so long. That is the one downfall I have seen so far.
