    Default How to do this

Hi, I'm totaly new in this kind of thing, have bought a gameplayer for my 5 year old daughter, and already have some questions

I'm from the Netherlands, have a PS 1, also I've got some games with it and they are not original, so I guess I can play all games with it.

What kind of game do I have to download, a NTSC, E or Pal
When downloaded, should I unrar it and burn the total (incl. map) to a CD
or should I first open the map and copy only the content to a CD
Any Sugestions of gamenames for a 5 year old?

Thanks in advance for helping me out

"Gameplayer"? Do you mean like a PSP or do you mean something else? Do you have a link to what you bought so we can get a better look at it?

As for games a 5 year old might find appropriate, I would look for some simple platformers or shootemups, not sure of any game titles for PS1 (sounds like these are the type you're trying to play) off the top of my head, maybe someone else will have some specific suggestions?

However what it has in groove, it lacks in originality. One can't help but be reminded of such bands as Pearl Jam, White Zombie, Suicidal Tendencies and other bands that bear the mantle of so called "Alternative Rock". One is even reminded of Lorie Anderson when she wore curlers. Hehehmhm! This video speaks less to the heart and more to the sphincter. In closing, I think Korn would do well to learn more from -"

I do not know if you need PAL or NTSC (E is PAL). According to a list, I found this which is not helpful to me:
    "ANTILLES, NETHERLANDS - NTSC
    NETHERLANDS - PAL"

    Here are the Sony Guides:
    http://www.epforums.org/showthread.p...-system-guides

As for burning, you will have to extract the archive. You may find downlaods for "Rar" file extensions, Zip extanetions and sometimes ECM file extansions.
These have to be extracted before burning. Once you do that, I suggest you use IMGburn to burn them to CD. Burnable files include IMG, BIN and ISO. If you have a CUE file, select that and it will automatically use the BIN or IMG that it is associated with.

    Game suggestions:
    Spyro 1, 2 & 3

Thanks for the Quick answer MaslowK.

It is a Playstation 1, yes, and we already played a bugs life, Winnie the Pooh honey collector and woody woodpecker racer.

I espescialy look for games like Mario, Sonic (that type of game, I know mario can't be played on a PS) , Puzzles, and typical girl-games

Ah, well that makes it easier. Along with the Spyro games as Jazzmarazz said, you could look into the Crash Bandicoot games including Crash Bandicoot Racing, those are all pretty simple and age appropriate

You can get Super Mario 1 to 3 possibly working on the Playstation via a NES emulator called "It Might Be Nes"

If you are interested I will dig more info out for you

There was a mastersystem emulator aswell for the PSX but to be honest it wasn't very good, but that NES one is great

    No screwdriver required

Here is what you will need:

-It Might Be NES program. You can download it here- It Might Be NES
    - a CD burner
    - Any burning program that can burn standard ISO images. I recommend ImgBurn. You can download it here- Download ImgBurn
    - Some NES roms you would like to play. You can find them here- Nes Rom Download Section
    - And of course a blank CD-R

    Directions for IMBNES v1.3.2:

1.) Download IMBNES v1.3 from the link above

2.) Un-zip all the files to a new folder on your hard drive. If you don't know how to un-zip the files download and install a program called Winrar here- Winrar

2.a) Right click on "imbNES v1.3.2.zip" and go to "Extract Here"

    3.) Run rombank.exe

4.) Under "Add/Remove Roms", click the first button to add all the ROMs in given folder to your ROM list and select the folder you downloaded your NES roms to.

5.) Once you've added all your ROMs, you can sort the list to get it just the way you want it. At the very least, you'll probably want to sort the list alphabetically using the "AZ" button under where it says "Sort Roms".

6.) When you're done making your ROM list, click the 'Build imbNES ISO' button in the lower left corner. Then pick the appropriate license (I'm guessing Europe since your in the Netherlands), press 'Build ISO', and choose where to save your ISO image.

7.) Once the build process if finished, you can close rombank.exe. Now you're ready to burn the CD iso image that was just created.

    To Burn with ImgBurn:

1.) Start ImgBurn and click "Write image file to disc"

2.) Click the "File" button, select "Browse for a source file", and find "nes.cue" which was created along with your ISO file.

3.) Under "Settings" in the lower left corner, change the Write speed to the lowest possible speed. Lowest being x1 highest being x10.

4.) Insert you blank CD-R into your CD/DVD drive.

5.) Click the "Write" button in the lower left corner to burn the CD.

    Using It Might Be NES:

After the splash screen, a list of ROMs on the disc will be displayed.

Use the directional pad to navigate through the list to find the game you want to play or you can use the L1 and R1 buttons to page up and page down through the ROM list quickly.

Use R2 and L2 to change between NTSC and PAL mode depending on the region of the game your going to play.

Press triangle to enter the options menu where you can enter game genie codes, reconfigure the controls, or reposition the screen.

When you're all ready to play, just press start. To return to the menu from a game, press L1+R1+Start+Select.
