I got my two new NES/SNES security bits today. To replace my shitty-ass ones that ended up stripping out. These are much, much more heavy duty. Now I can finally get my SNES apart and start fiddling with the idea of component modding this sucker.

Not too much work really. I already tore down both of my SNES consoles. Only one had the video encoder I was looking for. Luckily it's my more beat-up one. So I can experiment to my heart's content. All I have to do is solder a few wires and eventually mount a few RCA jacks. Not too hard of a mod compared to JTAGing a 360.

It will be a very easy mod indeed. I can't count all of the RCA jacks I have added to various devices; but it is easy.
Make sure you buy yourself a properly sized drill bit though. Using a shark object and twirling it until you have a large enough hole does NOT yield the same results.
Spend the extra 1.50 and get a bit. If you do not own a drill, attachments that fasten onto the bit are just as cheap and offer a comfy grip so that there will be no slipping.

Other than that, im sure you already found the pins for the connections, so have at it.

I have a dremel, but technically no drill. Although I can get a hold of one to borrow pretty easily. I just mainly wanted to tear both my SNESs apart to find out if either of them were moddable at all. Now I know one of them is guaranteed, so that's good. Only thing now is to buy some RGB-colored RCA jacks. Although I might do a ghetto-quick mod and just use one of my many PS1/2 AV hookups and just wire it up directly for right now. I want to see how the picture will look once I actually perform the mod. I read on a couple sites that I might have to make a small amp circuit for it. I guess I'll see once it's all wired up.

It was at 128 i believe before, now 48

At least now Sports is no longer my top genre *shiver*
