HP is shit for what you pay for it. Honestly.

If you can, go for Dell, or even Acer.

My first desktop was a HP. HD died after 6 years, but I didn't lose much because I had it all backed up.

See I just think this is a nicer laptop than the Mac, 17" Screen, 8 GB RAM, 1TB HDD, definitely my kind of computer.

The main problem I have with HP laptops are the wireless cards. They tend to use shitty ones, like Broadcom.

I've had this Acer for 3 years, and the previous owner had it for longer.

The only thing that has HAD to be replaced was the HDD and battery/charger.

I've also got a Dell D505 from '04 that still runs like a champ. I didn't really mean in terms of lifespan, I was more or less talking about the hardware.
