DVI > VGA is HD > Analog. No conversion, simply have to line the wires up properly. My wifes PC is on DVI>VGA cord with no converter box. It seems to work well.

As does VGA to DVI.

Why we still even banging on about this? Who cares. My PC runs into my monitor through DVI and into my LCD TV by HDMI. I care not.

In theory Gizmo is right. He could run a VGA > DVI > HDMI if he wanted. That converter box you linked says it's for specific use, like hooking HDMI output to a Projector and speaker set-up.

Me? I'm not bothered. I'm watching some old music videos from the early 2000s on YouTube and feeling a little nostalgic.
