Omg! The oldies that own the Cabrio Mk1 Golf have finally taken the rain cover off it and blown the back tire back up. The car's only been on their drive rusting away for the last year and a half... It's got no tax on the windscreen though, so I wonder if they're planning on using it again or selling up.
And there'd be a fair bit of body flex involved.

Never said I wanted it. If I was going Mk1 Golf it'd be a mint GTI. Convertible in England? Do one. I'd have the roof down for 2 days a year.

I just don't like to see classic cars being left to rot away. All they have to do is sell it to someone that wants it. Instead of leaving it on their drive rusting away.

There was one (mk1 cabrio) up for grabs over here recently.
I mentioned it to my dad (the last classic he had was an old 60's MGB......and he's had numerous classic motorcycles).
Anyway, we decided against it.......mainly because one of the strut towers looked suspect.

Still possible to spot paddocks with classics just rusting away here.
Not as common as when I was a kid........but you still see it.
