Question Why not use mediafire more often?

Okay so lately i've been noticing that people use filefactory & stuff and not mediafire - but mediafire alows you to download files at the same time with no time limit, that i'm aware of. Like no waiting 15 minutes for the next download. So i wondered why people didn't use it more often. Could someone shed a little light to why they other programs/sites are better or why there used more? I'm curious

Ima a mediafire user, my only complain would be when MF, in a random way, delete links ( so you need to keep eyes wide open on the download links or other users when they post a comment in your threads ) lately MF doesn`t like Jdownloader, dunno why. About rapidshare,i can`t stand the 30 kbps cap.

Well, MF is a free host so uploaders don't have any rewards.
And for some people around the world MF corrupts uploads and downloads randomly, which can be a real pain.

And like Izuna said: they randomly delete links...........plus they also close accounts now.

Because of the slow speed I tend to avoid rapidshare unless it's something really small, or hard to find.
But I have no problem using letitbit, ul.to and many others.

Because mediafire will delete your files more often especially copyrighted files.

I've noticed this too and wondered why. FF, RS and Rapid Gator give me terrible download speeds. When MU was alive, i could download a tv show (30 min.) within 5 to 30 minutes, with 5-10 being the average time I had to wait. If I use the 3 I mentioned, I have to wait like 5 hours. Plus I noticed when I was using Jdownloader, that it would reset my progress. One time I had a file at 80% and resumed my download and it went to 1%. It took me like 2 hours to get it to 80%. I was pissed.

After MU went down, it seems like pirating is a pain in the ass.

Ok... but how can a host know when a file is copyrighted/not legit? Barring file names.

If the file happens to be the same size and type common with a particular type of commonly pirated file it's sort of a dead giveaway, i.e., "FinalFantasy7Disc1.iso @ 700mb" or "ListofSongsOnSoundtrack.mp3's @ 60mb-120mb". Or at least that's my assumption.

Though, I wasn't aware mediafire was more prone to deleting files than other filehosts, it's usually the one I end up recommending aside from rapidshare (and on that note, how is say 100kB/s "too slow"? Impatient people ;/).

"I think that the problem with this video is it is highly derivative of many popular bands within the genre. Although when viewed on its own merits, it does have a deeper groove. However what it has in groove, it lacks in originality. One can't help but be reminded of such bands as Pearl Jam, White Zombie, Suicidal Tendencies and other bands that bear the mantle of so called "Alternative Rock". One is even reminded of Lorie Anderson when she wore curlers. Hehehmhm! This video speaks less to the heart and more to the sphincter. In closing, I think Korn would do well to learn more from -"

That's what I mean, barring file names (including the zip file itself). If you have, say... FF VII, there are countless other files as big. There as to be something else, another method of verifying.

They can open and see the inside of the file. The only way they cannot get through it, is when we (and you) put password for the zip/rar..

Related to this: I would suggest people to use the MF + Jd combination (or whatever filehoster + Jd's .dlc files) for uploads, since as far as I'm concerned, only 5-8 files uploaded on MF were ever removed (and the 3 files difference is solely because I included files going down temporary) out of several hundreds...

So most likely the problem would seem to lie somewhere else... like link-stealers posting the links (at least the non-encrypted ones) on some known warez sites, which is a direct invite for MF/any filehoster to delete them (remind "Referrals"), or (a bit less likely), haters who purposely report any actual link they see...

Don' worry, it won't hurt... that much!

So, I've made another Mediafire account. When I queue up a file now, it spends a few minutes analyzing each file. Anyone know what's up with that? Oh I donno if it's relevant, but I'm still using my nonsense file extension, so that could be part of it.
*PSA* Wii Redump collector's can now unscrub ISO files. So scrubbed games can now be verified. You can find the program to do this here
