I bought a DVI to HDMI cord at the goodwill for 99 cents about 2 months ago...haven't got around to hooking it up yet. I'm sure it will look better than just using the standard monitor input.

Probably just the same, or slightly better. I use my PC through DVI on my 22" LG monitor. 360 through HDMI.
