ok well in yu-gi-oh there are 4 main types of cards. monster (yellowish card), effect monster (light brown card), magic (green) and trap (dark pinkish i wil say for that). you have up to 60 cards in a deck with a minimum of 40. no limit for type of card in a deck but certain specific cards you are limited on (i dont know like any of them). monsters are lv 1-12? i wanna say. 1-4 you can summon automatically. 5-6 you have to sacrifice one monster on your side of the field to play, 7-8 takes two sacrifices and 9+ takes 3. limit to 5 monsters on the field at once as well as 5 magic/trap cards. limit to 7 cards in your hand (you draw at the beginning of the duel 5 cards, and draw one more every time you take a turn) limit to summoning one monster per turn (not counting effects from certain monsters, magic or trap cards)
the other two types of cards are fusion monster (purple) and ritual monster(dark blue). most people dont use these cards. (at least i dont) fusion monsters require 2 or more certain monster cards (specified on each fusion monster card) and a magic card called polymerization to "fuse" them together to summon the card (as in hard to have all those cards at once to complete the summon) and ritual monsters require sacrificing a monsters whose lv add up to the ritual monsters level as well as the activation of a specific ritual magic card (different for each ritual monster).
