The SNES isn't really a fair comparison being that there's less moving parts and no laser to wear out, but ditto on the older disc-based consoles tending to be more reliable thing. I still have a Saturn made in 1996 that works perfectly, while my two year old PS3 now refuses to read half my discs. This despite the fact that I have played my Saturn for hundreds of hours more, used the swap trick on it dozens of times, and played mostly backups burned to really crappy low grade media.
Then again, considering every Sony console I have ever had except my PSP has died on me, I'm beginning to think Sony as a company just hate me. :'D
I take excellent care of my consoles, so it really bothers me that I've had 5 Xboxes die on me. I'm hoping I have better luck with the PS3, but I guess they're all on borrowed time
Yeah, I generally take good care of my consoles too, and I can't think of anything I might have done to have my PS3 die on me so quickly. I've only played a handful of games on it, and whenever the data install option was there I used it, so half the time the console wasn't even reading huge amounts of data from the disc. :/ Plus all my games are in pretty much perfect condition, so it's not like I was putting unnecessary strain on the laser by asking it to read discs that were badly damaged. Just bad luck, I suppose~ Modern consoles tend to be a bit of a lottery in that way.
Yeah well I've had like over 20. Bitches be jelly.
I had 4 at once at one point.![]()

But Seriously, all my consoles are good, and nothing happened to them.
I even bought them the first year they came out.
Luck's on my side eh
Then this will happen![]()
