    I agree with NTA
    But a better start off game is one that makes everything simple King of Fighters, Garou, Mark of the Wolves, and Street Fighter are good choices as well.

    I would say, a normal paced one.
    If you wish to try a 2D one, maybe Street Fighter 2, or King of Fighters to start
    3D ones, you could probably try Soul Blade, or Tekken.
    I would recommend trying Tekken 3 3D fighting games wise..

    Parring can be difficult for beginner-ish players.
    You CAN begin playing it, but I would take it slow first.

    You're not, it's just fighters generally have a "second chance" type of system in place.
    Usually , counters are harder than just using supers all day, counters require to know your opponent, yourself, and the current character you're playing as moveset.
    Memorization is key in fighters.
