Grabs require being close.
And that player didn't know how to kara throw.
And even then, that's what the random mk pokes were for.
One of Evil Ryu's main problem is almost the same Akuma has.
Below average health, and stamina.
And getting too close would equal getting right into Yun's best offense area.
Evil Ryu isn't like Oni who has many tools for getting close/cross up and combo starters.
He has a bit of trouble getting close, and even then, requires caution and a bit of momentum.

"I am... Sheik. One of the last of the Sheikah tribe..."
hy nemesis, we need to have some more matches in melty blood AC, those were fun.
Gen's kinda risky in my opinion.
I'm also a Gen player, and unless you plan ahead, learn the correct input/distance for his Ogas, and learn his funky links, you are pretty much screwed.
He also has worthless reversal options if he gets knocked down and has no meter.
Favorite Street Fighter character would be either:
Urien, Alex, or Guy.
One of the people I play with somehow spams for days with Gouken, it annoys me because I'd usually beat him fair and square until he brings out Gouken, then I have to either spam with him, or lose![]()
"I am... Sheik. One of the last of the Sheikah tribe..."
Might be mistaken, but he pretty much requires patience, caution when poking/linking and paying attention to both of his meters.
A well guessed poke against Gouken, and it's a free counterattack for him, launching you away, and restarting his fireball zoning.
He's also, if I'm not mistaken, one of the characters that are reset maniac.
