Generally speaking it's best to start with a big idea and then figure out the details. So if you sketch out something you are trying to capture, then you can start refining it.


Edit: I used to get drunk and smoke weed that was way too strong; and then I would go on a horror trip. Then I would watch old school Anime and they would be heavier than I can describe in words... But at the end of one of these features, a storyboard diagram came up after the credits; and I was inspired to make my own. Here is a segment from the story I created:
