He was on the run and they were going by what he said when he was talking about the "Stand Your Ground" law in his state. The law allows for lethal force if you feel threatened enough. He said he felt threatened enough and the cops were like, "Well, this guy is obviously not black, so why don't we just take his word for it HURRRDURRRR"
There really wasn't any additional evidence to bring into the case. He fled when he got the chance, then turned himself in. He killed an unarmed kid by following him for a number of blocks (while being told by the cops he was on the phone with NOT TO FOLLOW THE KID), and then, I guess when the kid questioned this dude, Zimmerman shot him.
I think there is something weird going on with this case. I don't have any sympathy for this guy, he knows what he did. Why shoot an unarmed kid? Idiots with guns. I think he's just frustrated because he can't be a cop so he waves a gun around so he can feel good about himself.
