    You said it yourself that a higher resolution would make things smaller, so increasing them to a comfortable viewing size is a logical choice.

    Big TV's are ok, but not monitors. Right now I have a 20" widescreen at 1600x900, and I have to zoom Firefox so I can read shit...and the monitor is on the desk right in front of me.

    You're telling me you think that increasing font size is a bad idea but zooming on Firefox isn't ?

    Zooming on FF is a necessity for me, even on a 20". So why get a giant monitor just to zoom further?
