Indeed. Switching back to dial-up after the service contract ends is sadly appealing.

    Is that different to shaped?

I've only ever had unlimited data packages myself (but with a set max speed of course).

    I have returned!

Decided not to run as far as I normally do since I haven't broken in my new shoes yet.

I've never heard of the term. This was the only option, no levels of packages. If I could get cable I would have signed up in a heartbeat .

    Really?
Shaping has been around for a long time.
Set data limit per month (usually up and down).....you get to that and your speed is reduced....in many cases (but not all) down to around dialup speeds.

I've never heard of rolling bandwidth......and I was just curious.

Ohh, that. No, nothing like that. I was under the impression that it reset each month, it does not . I get bandwidth at an hourly rate, except I have a set maximum cap .

I've always gone for unlimited data cap with a restricted speed.
Internet has always been crap down here.......so if you want half decent speeds you end up having a data cap, with excess usage payments.....or a speed reduction to lower than what I get 24/7 atm.

Which is why I only have 1.5mbps adsl right now.

    Also: I'm a cheap arse

    $40 a month (at a discount )
Extra bandwidth is something like $10 per GB.

The providers that do speed caps got much worse than dial-up, one went as low as 14kbps .

I spent like three hours building my Adept up to Level 18. Wasn't nearly as hard as I thought. Female Human Adept with a PhalanxII. Works so well. Changed it to an Avenger for the next time I play. I want a little more killpower.
