    When my Grandad stops, if it's longer than say 5 seconds, handbrake goes on. I imagine it's because of his worn out knees though.

    Yeah, it's 'cos he's super old
    My Dad never uses the handbrake when he's driving and he's in his 60's.
    Only time he ever uses it is when he stops the car and leaves it running
