Default Soft Mod Ps2 with Swap Magic

Hello guys, I recently picked up a slim ps2 with scph70012 for bios. I want to soft mod it in order to dump the bios for the ps2 emulator PCSX2. I did some searching on this site and came across this guide by Zorlon http://www.epforums.org/showthread.p...atability-list and My first concern is, is this the guide that I need in order to soft mod my ps2 for my stated intentions? and if this is the case, then i was thinking of using Swap Magic. If I use Swapmagic, then what kit or bundle do I need to order? Is there another guide here that I will need in order to use Swap Magic for running Ulaunch? I hope yall can answer my questions. *bows* thanks a bunch!

If you want to skip the whole softmodding process, we have almost every single BIOS image Here.

There is also a free FMCB installation service offered Here.

Finally, are is also a much cheaper DIY softmodding method, you can find guides for it Here and Here (what I think is the original guide can be found Here).
To get more information about uLaunchELF, and other apps, go Here and Here. Another site that might eventually come of interest is PSX-Scene, but seems to have become a shadow of it's former self.

SwapMagic is by far the most expensive method (even though you don't have to buy a flip-top cover, but I'm just mentioning that because someone on another site might say that it is required).

    Hope that helps.

download the bios? wait, I thought that the bios had to be dumped from the ps2 and if the bios were downloaded from the net then pcsx2 would not recognize them during the setup after installation of the emulator.......I've tried with different bios versions with no results. I will look into the other links you posted though, and I dont mind spending the 30 bucks for swapmagic if I decide to go that route.

*jaw drops* whoa O.O ok, so one of those bios registered with the emulator setup. so does this mean that I didnt need the ps2 in the first place? oO

No you didn't need the PS2, you just needed a BIOS from the download section of the mainsite.

And please don't double post, use the edit button instead. Thanks.

*slams forehead into desk* ok, I had NO idea working bios existed as downloadable content on the net.....I know this is spamming, but I have tried several versions with no success. One last request and I'm good with a thanks to all that helped: My computer specs are Toshiba Satellite, i-7 quad core 2.30 ghz, 6 gigs ram, 1 gig vid memory nvidia geforce 540M, Windows 7 64 bit premium. Does anyone know where a decent guide is for pcsx2 settings? I would greatly appreciate it, and thank yall ever so much!

EDIT: Never mind, I found a setup guide here on emuforums. it shows a slightly different version than what I downloaded but I think I got everything approximate, I can figure it out from here. many thanks people, I'm good now
