I have always had good luck with AVG, so I've never really had a reason to change it.

Don't bother with side shit in AssCreed1. Just complete the game. It's not like it has a story of any sort to enjoy. Just a bunch of disjointed missions.
Play AssCreed2 and things will be much better and much more coherent.
Play Brotherhood and you'll have a game that didn't need to be made, but is still pretty fun and good. Lots of new things to do.
Don't play Revelations. It's more of Brotherhood with much less reason for existing.

Playing AC2 now and I've really gotten into it.
I will play brotherhood because I already have it.
By that stage revelations will be cheap enough and I'll have no choice but to play it.
Then if I haven't killed myself who knows I might even play AC3.
