Default Resident Evil 2 (N64) ROM Issues

I'm trying to open the rom of Resident Evil 2 for N64 using the Project64 emulator. Graphical glitches abound and the game can hardly get past the menu screen. I know some ROMs have issues and just plain don't work but I figured asking here was worth a shot . Anyone experience the same problems? Will using a different emulator to open the rom change anything?

Is there any reason you don't want to play the PS1 version on an emulator? Because it's perfectly playable in PS1 emulators.

    RE2 doesn't work on it.
If you have a DC or modded PSX, you can just burn the respective versions of the game.
Go use ePSXe with the PSX version.

Well I actually own the game disc for PS1 but it's a tad scratched and iffy. I read somewhere the N64 version was the best (but that could be wrong). So anyway, the thing with PS emulation is...I don't fully understand it as much as say using ZSNES, Gens, or Project64. It involves .iso's and .bio's and stuff right? It's always confused me. I guess just reading a FAQ or tutorial would help (which I will do). Have you got any tips regarding PS1 emulation?

Well if you use pSX, rather than ePSXe you just need the BIOS file (from the main site) and to create a memory card. No fannying around with plugins etc.

And an ISO of the game of course. If your disc isn't too bad just rip a copy of it using ImgBurn.

Okay so, Nemmy tells me to use epsxe to rip the image you say use imgburn along with psx? Im confused as to which route to take!

Also from what Im gathering, I need...

    1) The .iso from my actual PS1 disc (that I will rip a copy of using some program)
    2) a BIOS file from the main site (presumably you're referring to EP)
    3) a created memory card (Not sure how to do this)

So sorry to be all noobish but at least I think I've broken it down into three easy parts for you to explain to me If you don't mind. Thanks guys by the way!

Hi! Use Glide64 and apply these settings. It should work. FMVs are still problematic afaik.

    Emulator:
    http://psxemulator.gazaxian.com/

    PS1 BIOS:
    http://www.emuparadise.me/biosfiles/Scph1000_Bios.zip

    ImgBurn:
    http://imgburn.com/index.php?act=download

Use ImgBurn to rip an "ISO" of your Resident Evil 2 discs to your PC, then use the emulator above (pSX) along with the BIOS file above (un RAR it into the BIOS folder of pSX)

ePSXe requires a lot of configuration to get just right; I'm recommending you to use pSX since it requires next to no tinkering.

If you haven't already figured things out, try using this guide http://www.fantasyanime.com/emuhelp/emuhelp_epsxe.htm, download the disc image from the PSX ISO archive here, and use ecmtools (also from here) to decompress it if needed. The guide can also be used for various other systems, if need be.

    Default Same problems here....

I am having the same problems the audio And video are not in synch
I can't even get past the first sentence of the opening cutscene with P64
    It says video depth problem
With Mupen64 the Rom won't even load
I've looked up the internet but can't find a solution
The only solution I've found is using the glide64 plugin with specific settings on mupen64
I tried that but now I have a Glide3x.dll not found error
I'll give it one more try and if it doesn't work I'll move on to the psx version
epsxe is pretty easy to set up check out its tutorial on fantasyanime.com
It worked for me I played silent hill till the end without any glitches
