If they are holding themselves to do that, they will probably
just buy in April all the things they wanted to buy in March,
still buy the things they wanted to buy in April, and maybe
even buy more things due to the rush of being one month
waiting to buy anything.
(of course, those who actually have the money for that...)
So yeah, maybe it would even have the opposite effect in the end.
(mass behaviour is unpredictable as unpredictable can be...)
I suppose it's fitting that since piracy is such a passive form of theft that the fight for piracy would be the path of least resistance.
"Now that you're done NOT buying things and getting them for free; don't buy anything!"
It actually makes sense if you think about it. They have this power to do whatever they want because of their money. Who's giving them that money? People. Who are they calling pirates and thieves and putting in prison? People. It could be some form of reminder to show them who's the boss.
Unfortunately, we are not the boss. The boss are the masses who believe anything that is said by the media.![]()

Yes, it all comes down to the masses in my opinion too.
I still find unbelieveable how so many people let themselves be carried away (or go with the crowd)
and swallow every word of "big entities". It is somewhat frustrating realizing that the large portion
of mankind does not stop its "gears" to think (logical thinking) a little.
I mean, there are so many clichés outthere too, but even the newer generation seem to get that
"formatted attitude", or "roboticized", if I may. (Hee, Sonic analogies...)
I would say "selfishness" some time ago, but in so many cases now, I find it to be plain "dumbness".
(read 'dumbness' as: inability to think for themselves... reasonably!)
...
(and 'Cookie', is that a chase, or...)
They're always the boss. It would only send them a message, a message saying: "you may be the boss, as long as we want you to be". We can't break the multinational corporations in one month, but that's not really our goal anyway.
But in the end, it probably isn't gonna change anything unless lots of people do it. But doing it ourselves or at least spreading the word won't really hurt. All the big things start off small. This may be the beginning of something big, or it may be nothing. We're the ones that decide that.
The brain's functionality is focused on survival. When surviving is not an issue, there's no need to use it.
