Default Dragon quest 6 rom issues help!

A couple years back i downloaded a rom for dragon quest 6 and everything worked fine. The last few times i have tried to play it through the roms i have used, has had some issues. Basically the only issue is that their is a lot of dialogue missing when you try to talk to people in towns, etc. and you miss a lot of the story movement, etc. Is their a rom where the dialogue is all there? Currently I am using T-Eng 0.4_DeJap rom for dragon quest 6 and the emulator is Snes9x. Thanks so much!

    Here are the SNES translations:

    http://www.romhacking.net/translations/343/
    http://www.romhacking.net/translations/344/

Each seems to be different, so try to check them all and see which one is the right one for you. (None of them are 100%)

If you're playing from the beginning, I recommend playing the DS version, which is an enhanced version that is fully English:

Thank you for getting back to me, neither of those roms worked for three different emulators, and as for the DS version, my laptop is 6 years old and cannot handle DS games for more than 10 minutes before shutting down completely. Any suggestions?

Not working? have you patch it correctly?
With the game not fully translated yet, so any missing dialogues are to be expected.

For the DS, tried No$gba yet?

The translations are not "roms", they're "patches". You need to download the original Japanese [J] rom and use the translation patches to patch it to English. The instructions on how to do it are available in each patch's readme file.

As for DS, have you tried using different emulators? The problem of laptop shutting down automatically is usually caused by overheating. Try clearing your laptop's air vents. More information can be found online.
