I got my brother's PS2 modded and now it won't read any discs.
I'm gonna take it again there to have them take a look at it, it was an unopened PS2 and the guy said I had a cloned laser drive, so I'm guessing he will say it's because of that.But funny enough, it used to read original discs just fine before yesterday.

Nah, I watched the whole process, he used my same laser and tested it with (sigh...) GTA San Andreas and it loaded, I brought some of my backups (which kinda offended the guy, since he went "I never mess this up") and it loaded Persona 4 and Urban Chaos and they loaded, I brought it home and voilá, it doesn't read any discs at all or sometimes I don't even get video.

Seriously Mexico, why the fuck you must check all PS2 moddings with San Andreas? I swear to fucking god, every goddamn house in this shithole country has a backup copy of San Andreas, for fuck sake.

PS2s are a nightmare to chip. Is the person that did it even good at soldering? It's one of the most complicated consoles to modchip, ever.

I had to go with the modchip route since this PS2 is of the last series that don't support FreeMCBoot. :/

When I had my own PS2 laser repaired, the guy popped up his copy of San Andreas, when I installed FreeMcBoot to my friend and two of his cousins, they all whipped out a backup of SA, and what did the guy use yesterday? FUCKING SAN ANDREAS.
