I don't even understand how people stall so much. I reckon my next lesson I should have no problems pulling away any more. Mind you, I still don't know if I'll have a feel for the pedals yet, I've been pressing them way too hard.

Not sure what to tell you really. Except that you will get used to it pretty fast. :O

Hope so. I've only had about half an hour sat in the drivers seat so far. So not bad at all IMO.

Well not to discourage you but I'd say that getting the hang of it all after next lesson is wishful thinking. Then again maybe I just sucked at it more than you or you are a fast learner. Yeah...

Well, I've wanted this since like forever. I was so disappointed after my first lesson because I stalled and because I had no idea what I was doing with my feet. But I'm over it now and want to go and have another try.

With my dad I drove either a Saab 9-5 or an old Opel or something. At the driving school we drove a really nice Volvo. It had this strange key which you press into a slot and it just gets sucked in. Like a tape. So awesome. Never seen anything like that before. Oh and the parking brake was a small handle on the left side of the steering wheel. Kinda hard to describe but it felt so futuristic!

The car I'm learning in is over 10 years old now I think, and they can be had for around £500-1000 used so I think it's a reasonable car to learn in, since I can buy one once I have passed my test if I like the car...

    Of course it's the 1.4 - 1.9 Diesel that are £500. It's like £900+ for a decent 1.1

I don't know much about cars so I find it hard to say anything about their performances really. But 9-5 is nice to drive. And my parents got a pretty new Opel Vectra which also is really nice to drive.
