The one I miss the most was a total heap, but I wish I kept it around.
Some shitty 233MHz Cyrix CPU, 90MB RAM, Voodoo II (), 6GB + 10GB HDDs.
I'm so gonna go through our old photos and upload the geeky ones.
There's one of me from the early 2000s sitting playing on House of the Dead 2 on the Dreamcast. There's various photos of our TV with a Playstation sat beside it.
And then there's photos of our first PC for some reason.![]()
Most computers will eventually die, I had an old shitty emachines at one point that just died when it was about 5 years old. Which is apparently longer than those pieces of shit usually last. It wasn't a virus or anything, something just burned out. I can't remember tbh.
All the computers people advertise/giveaway/sell these days are too modern for what I want.
I don't want a computer from the last 10 years, I don't want a Pentium 4 machine. I had one when they were relatively modern, and it was total shit.
I want a Pentium 2/3 or AMD equivalent machine with like 256MB RAM and 2 Voodoo IIs in SLI.
Believe it or not, I used to love PC gaming in the 90s/early 2000s. Always wanted to play the likes of Half Life, Jedi Knight II, Soldier of Fortune, Kingpin and whatnot. But my parents wouldn't ever buy a computer.
Although all SLI'ing 2 Voodoo IIs does is let you run the games at 10**x768 rather than 800x600 on a single card.
