But isn't it set before (or during?) the events of MGS4? And Raiden's the protagonist. And stuff. So basically it does have something to do with the franchise, even though the gameplay will be different.

And "Solid" isn't even in the title, implying that it's not part of that series of games. It's just a Metal Gear action game spinoff, hence the new title. Is that really so hard to grasp for all these butthurt rage monkeys?

It's set after. And it takes place in the main canon of the series (MG+Solid).

And it being set afterwords would make sense for it to be an action game. Raiden did stop Mount Snakemore with one hand then murder a bunch of the most powerful soldiers in the world with both hands tied behind his back (well, both arms blown off, but who's counting?). Which concluded in him using his goddamn nerve endings to electrocute them to death. Why the fuck would he go back to sneaking around?

I still think Dante's new design looks hideous, but the gameplay vids I've seen look like good old quality DMC, so yeah.
