Back in 08, people were still playing Call of Duty 3 online. This shocked me lots. Since the game is shitty.

I missed the ENTIRE underground areas for all these YEARS!! I had to lead the skeleton to burn the bridge in order to go below. (Again, they wanted you to figure this out on your own...teasing-out the skeleton in this way? Sheeeesh, Konami...)
The underground(s) have been as stellar as the rest of the Castle....very cool!
Fought a boss that was essentially an alien-like creature surrounded by THOUSANDS of zombie-like people!! I was really wowed...might be one of the coolest, most original bosses I have seen in a game..
....And having to use the Bat-form and use sonar
blips to see your way through that spiked area...how friggin cool! Armour that shatters spikes upon touching them? The animal transformations? Wow....so many reasons why this game is heads and tails above most others of its breed...
Back to SOTN...
Thanks, guys!

Reinstalling Ubuntu 11.10. I was having issues with the wireless connectivity, so I did a little research. I found a page that said to uninstall network-manager and to install wicd. So, without thinking it through, I uninstalled network-manager... and had no wireless connection to install wicd. I can't run a wire to my router since the router is downstairs.
Not a fan of Linux.
I liked Ubuntu when it didn't had the left bar...thing. I remember updating to the newest version, seeing that, disliking it and then getting rid of it completely.Reinstalling Ubuntu 11.10. I dual boot and these days, I can't really name any software that I use with any sort of frequency that doesn't have a functional linux equivalent, the biggest being Foobar2000. I don't even use Photoshop unless I have a reason to now.
Also, I hated the Unity interface at first, too. Back before I got used to the idea while using OSX86. Now, I don't mind it and realized that I can utilize the space by maximizing (will never do) or invading its space with the edge of a window. When you do that, it auto-hides, and you can call it up by either pushing the Super (Windows) key on your keyboard or by mousing over the left edge.
Ubuntu has a bit of a problem in that they're trying to build away from GNOME and create their own Desktop Environment, which, I don't think they have the manpower or expertise to do. They've created a neat little fork of GNOME-Shell, but it is what it is: a neat little fork. The GNOME Foundation has just released GNOME-Shell extensions, which Unity does not and cannot support. I don't believe Unity has hooks for extensions either so essentially with Unity, wysiwyg, which is antithesis to the principles of Linux.
I mean, do I hope they pull a rabbit out of their hat? Definitely. I love Ubuntu. Do I think it will go as well as they could hope? No, not at all. There are too many variables involved and this sort of undertaking leaves a lot of room for flawed execution. They could do something awesome like GNOME or KDE or XFCE, or they could bottom out and do something closed off like Windows Explorer or OS X with limited room for customization.
And you have to admit, Windows and OS X aren't exactly wonderful for customization. In Windows7, you have to patch the uxtheme.dll and two other files in order to run custom themes. In OS X, you have to run an mpkg that will completely change the image files of the OS in order to run themes.
Yes, I've thought about these things. In the space between killin' niggas in shootan gamz and job searching/working, I think about and install operating systems.
