I don't mind paying £15 provided it's in good condition and works 100% - an awful lot of them seem to have dead pixels and/or scratches to the screen, which I suppose is to be expected for a 20 year old console, but still something I'd rather pay a little extra to avoid.
I hear ya, man, and I know that sad tale. Non-U.S. action figure collectors get the same shaft, but even worse....they have to fight tooth-and-nail in many other countries for stuff that litters the toy shops over here. Its pretty damned elitist of these major toy and video game companies to choose 'select regions' for much of their product....seems beyond retarded from a marketing standpoint...
I have always tried to lend a hand to my 'foreign' buddies over the years, from Lucky Charms cereal, to modern Star Wars figures.

About the GameBoys, do as you need to, mate, but if you can hold-off for a few weeks, I can locate/produce a really cherry grayscale for you...

I enjoy cash/sterling, naturally, but I have also been known to swap for 'region-exclusive' foodstuffs and treats....
(Always need more HP Brown and Marmite for my larder.)

    Didnt we all?

I bought each one at launch, or each 'major' alteration, anyhow. Rarely buy consoles at launch, but Big N can bank on me most of the time with their hand-helds.

Seems like only yesterday that I bought my clear-purple GameBoy Color. I was in my mid-20s, and my ex-wife's little brother and I both waited in the mall outside the Electronics Boutique because they were running a promotion: "Get the NEW GBC, and get POKEMON FREE!". Our GBCs were $89.99 each, and he got Pokeman Red with his, I opted for Blue.
We (he, really..) had grand plans of swapping monsters and going over the moon, but I was dead-bored with that damned game within less than an hour...lol

    Good morning, dildos.

Seriously, GREAT systems. The GB family are my favorites, I have several models of each.

Cosmic? Was it you mentioning 15-20 for a grayscale GB? Wow...thats like $30 US dollars....they usually sell for about $5 each around here..

Most GB models, up until the later SPs and DSs, can be had for $10-$20....shouldnt be paying more than that. I see the regular DS has hit roughly $30, and the Lites around $40-$50. If getting an SP, make SURE to get the Model AGS-101; They will be metallic blue or 'Pearl Pink'. The earlier SPs, while awesome still, lacked the newer BRIGHTER screen of the Model AGS-101s.

Need to grab another Micro...VERY snazzy little powerhouse. My LEAST favorite would have to be the original GBA...the football-shaped one....what a stinker...

Should anyone need any particular GB model, PM me and I'll see what I have around. If I dont HAVE it, I can GET it; no troubles. I was the GameBoy King back in my 20s, I have a picture somewhere of a 5' X 5' table-top COVERED in 'gray bricks', heh...
I liked the original advance, the SPs gave me hand cramps because it's too narrow. I just installed my own afterburner to my advance, and voila, backlight.

I have heard of the 'Afterburner Kit', sounds neat. For me, though, the design and BRIGHTNESS of the later-model SPs will always be a favorite.

Wish the PSP was designed in that way, more like the SP and the TurboExpress and not like the Game Gear and Lynx...

Kouen, that is truly ASTOUNDING, sir! You get Stan Lee's famous 'NO-PRIZE' for your contributions to the world of 'achievements'!

That actually looks pretty good, even in low detail. Highly artistic.
