    I'm in the same boat.

@Jackhammer: Wasn't that the last one released for a non-handheld? In any case I agree completely, I'd better be able to feasibly use a GC controller. I haven't read up on the game at all (don't care to as I won't get a Wii until I can get one for like $30 or some shit) but it would be quite annoying if there was a lot of motion bullshit.

That game would be enough to make me never want to play Zelda again.

    AFAIK.

I wouldn't be surprised if Nintendo held this back to release with the Wii U...

    HD version looks good.

Edit: I think this is just a tech demo, not the Wii U version of Skyward Sword.

First of all, why fix what isn't broken? If a game is good and people enjoy it, then stick with the formula. And I know you're a Ys fan, as am I, but every game is the exact same.

But that doesn't really apply here. Miyamoto has tried to change this Zelda but still stick with what makes a Zelda game great.

    Just read this: http://wii.ign.com/articles/119/1199034p1.html

And generally the trailers make it seem like they're trying to span out from the medium and make an originally great game.

At least it's good that Wii's are dirt cheap right now.

And yeah, I'm basically in the same boat. I usually wait to buy the next Nintendo console until the next Zelda game comes out. I got my Wii about a year ago, when I thought Skyward sword was coming out. Twilight Princess doesn't count since it was on the GC too.

Yeah, I'm not really sure how keen I am on motion controls, escepailly the kind where the hits have to be specific. It would seem to me that it may be fun for a little bit, but than get repetitious and annoying. But man, I thought the same way with Galaxy and some other Wii games, but I was dead wrong, so I have no idea.

Well, when the ladt Zelda game you played was the greatest one to exist, it may be hard to move on. Although you should, since (except for the DS titles), all of them are amazing.

Also, upon watching that video a second time, I noticed that Link is wearing pants.
Yeah, about that video. It's about the same response at the end for Jackhammer, that combat may be good, it may be annoying. We'll just have to see.

I'm a cheap person, what can I say.
Only reason I'd get it full price is if I had gift cards.

Not everyone goes "EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE" and jumps at the chance to drop full price for a game on release day. This does not make someone a cheapass.

It does, however, make you sound like a spoiled brat.

    Congrats.

I was mostly just joking, but okay.

    Sorry.

Yeah, I don't quite get the hate for Majora's Mask. I liked it. Plus, the masks and the whole "end of the world" concept made it interesting enough.

Twilight Princess is the one where you can turn into a wolf, right? If so, I'll probably play it sooner or later.

MM was a major deviation from OoT, and one of the games that actually tried to change the formula and succeeded. But many of the purists hated it because it was different, not because it was a bad game.

Also, the wolf parts suck. I really enjoyed the game, but the parts when you had to collect the bugs as wolf link was terrible.

I thought about getting the special edition with gold wiimote for Christmas, but $70 is just too much for a single game when I can spend that much and get 2-6 great games that have been out for a while at a lower price. On a side note, why does Super Smash Bros. Brawl still cost $45 used and full price new? I guess retailers/Nintendo figure Nintendo fans will pay full price for a game thats been out for 3 years.

First party Nintendo stuff never price drops until a succesor comes out. Galaxy 2 = Galaxy 1 for $20.

Or until it's been so long that Nintendo doesn't care, like Twilight Princess.

Or you could just buy it used and not have to wait all that long for them to drop the price.

And no, I don't feel about about buying used. At all.

$50 or $40ish used, it's not really a price drop, just a price reduction that's consistently the same.
