there is a third party driver you need, some dudes are constantly upgrading it and making it better with more support for ps3 controller on PC
things is that games dont recognize it and put it in their games, so it becomes just a random controller you have to set-up for yourself.
thats the good thing about the 360 controller, just plug it in and most games that also have 360 ports will just let you use that.
oh you want to use it for emulation? like ps2 games?
that will work just fine, it works fine too if you want to play PC games. But there is no default controller setting since the games dont recognize the controller, so you manually set it up.
you know.. old school. If that isnt a problem, go for it.
But for PS2 emulation and stuff that would probably go awesome...
