Yeah I never realised until someone told me years later. I always had the old brown C64 at my home and the later cream coloured one at my granddad's so I never thought to compare them side by side.

Some people prefer the earlier SID, but I guess it depends on the game and of course which chip the composer was writing with.

Won't read games from a DVD+/-R but all Wiis are compatible with a USB drive. But no Gamecube games over USB, just Wii games.

And the Wii library sucks just as badly as the last time me/you had a Wii.

Mario games is the majority of the good games. THere are other games I guess; MH3, DKCR, ....uhh...yeah.
Your only option would be HDD backups, but its the fastest method of loading anyhow.

Dont bother tbh mate, it will become a dust collector before you finish paying it off. Wii hasnt ever got any better
