Otherwise I would be totally down with doing what you suggested. It's a shit-old laptop with a 1.6 ghz Turion, and less than 1GB of RAM though. Personally with as low specs as it has I would install XP. Use the least amount of resources possible.
Win 7 would run better than you'd think with 1GB RAM though.

Yeah? Well that can be her choice then. I'll suggest it to her. Although I'm not really inclined to if I'm the one who's doing all of the work. Unless I get compensation.

Windows 7 ran much faster than XP did on my parents' PC. Sempron 3000+ (1.8GHz I think? Single core anyway) with 1GB DDR2 RAM and a 40GB IDE HDD...

Probably could have sped it up quite a bit switching it to a SATA HDD.

Yeah, I don't bother with XP anymore, even if you have a somewhat old computer with a decent CPU and 1GB of RAM, you can do pretty well in Windows 7 and avoid having to hunt around for drivers.

Plus, XP gives me BSOD's at an alarming rate and 7 works perfectly on my rig.

Alice Madness Returns £21 + 0.99p postage. "Like new condition", no DLC code for American McHee's Alice (not bothered, wouldn't play it anyway. )

    Tempted. Worth the money?

Red Dead Redemption has supplanted Mass Effect 2 as my favorite current generation game. Mainly because of the online and how fucking fun it is.

Throwing knives are such bullshit. I have mo PvP kills with knives than all of my guns combined.

I never bothered with RDR's MP, maybe that's why I didn't enjoy it as much as other people.

Once I've done FEAR 3 I'll be playing Alice Madness Returns I guess.
