    Basically this. It's very reminiscent of old style NES/SNES games, where you bust your ass figuring out how to get through three quarters of the level, then die, and have to start all over again. Like, right back at the beginning of the level. The only difference so far is, once you find where you die, you can get all of your souls back. So you do end up stockpiling a lot of souls, for purchasing and whatnot. And you don't lose your items.
