I've been avoiding that game. I've watched a little bit of it, and could easily go borrow it from someone, but there's just so many horror stories.

Its next gen gaming for the retro gamer. Or so I'm told.

Basically this. It's very reminiscent of old style NES/SNES games, where you bust your ass figuring out how to get through three quarters of the level, then die, and have to start all over again. Like, right back at the beginning of the level. The only difference so far is, once you find where you die, you can get all of your souls back. So you do end up stockpiling a lot of souls, for purchasing and whatnot. And you don't lose your items.

Oh, I've played with one of those on display. Once. I felt like a poor little street child looking in a toy shop at Christmas, knowing I could never own anything inside. My own "smart" phone is too dumb to even access the web browser. Part of me is clinging to it out of stubbornness because I got it in a mystical time before data plans were a required purchase.
