Yes, I covered this above ">Plugs in speakers into TV", sound continues to buzz/vibrate. It's horrible. Put me right off playing GT5.

There are 2 lasers in a DVD drive. One for CD and one for DVD. I'm guessing the CD laser has gone bad. This is common with older drives like yours.
