Eh, tier list mean something, though they don't dictate too much in terms of skill.

I mostly find them to be indicators of character frequency, more than an indicator of a characters power level.

After a while it's more about playing the player and less about playing the character.

That's how it always goes for me. Some characters are better suited against others but, it's nothing that can't be overcome.
