I had a 3870 in 2009 I believe it was. Very nice card, but I ended up selling it.

I got it for around £30 from PC World but the fan was broken and it blew up my power supply.

Oh oh have i missed the knacker talk??

About two weeks ago a traveller family pulled up beside me and asked where the priest house was, it was right behind me. The man then started a story about how their baby in the back was sick and they needed money to buy petrol to get home from kilkenny, now I'm not a scientist, but they were driving an 08 bmw. They have some balls the travellers. :wacok:

Does anyone know what overseas shipping charges newegg do? I've had a look on the site, but they only talk about some possible additional charges if you are around america

Additional fees may apply for shipments to APO/FPO, AK, HI and PR.

    Specs:
    Dual Core 5400 @ 2.70Ghz.
    2GB DDR2.
500GB HDD (why people include this? I dunno.)

I'll post the cards from the cheapest to the most expensive, by most expensive I mean that it's inside my budget and the next one to it it's a $50-60 increase. I'd like to play stuff in mid-high settings (The Witcher, Mass Effect 2, Bad Company 2, COD Black Ops (yeah yeah) and Starcraft 2 with a 1366x768 res.

I know. He got it with his computer around those years, 2006 I think. It managed to run Fallout 3 and Dead Space just fine, so that's why I'm not looking at sky-high specs and price video cards since I know a somewhat lesser one can do the job.

Failing that I'd probably go for the Radeon HD 4670, 1GB DDR2, HDMI, DVI, DirectX 10.1

Yup. Around $100 a few dollars more/less. The next one is a GTS450 for $180.

I read it's PCI-E 2.1. I don't know if my board (most likely not) has 2.1, are those backwards compatible or not?

What is your PSU though? Generic one? I learnt the hardway with PSUs, ignoring polo's advice constantly about upgrading it before putting a 3870 in my tower.

Then I was all FUCK YEAH MY GENERIC 550W PSU RUNS THE 3870 PERFECTLY, 20 minutes later the PSU blew up.

    It'll work. You can use a PCI-E 2.0 card in a 16x PCI-E slot, I was for ages.
