Are you kidding? Hotfile was THE best upload site out there after MegaUpload, and Rapidshare especially, had turned to total crap! Five minutes to start a download, give me a break Rapidshare... not to mention all of their uploads being lost in a major crash a year back.
But... I suppose you did not hear that they got some major scrutiny recently. This is why everyone has moved to newer sites like Fileserve, Sonicshare, and lesser known Enterupload.
Like Cookie said, if you don't like it, request a mirror to another free filehoster or a re-upload if all links are dead... Raging about it won't change anything.
As for the people who bought Premium, no one forced them, you can still download without Premium, you just have to wait a bit (more or less) longer, that's all...
And unless a filehoster goes down completely and deletes everything till the last byte, there's usually still plenty of stuff left (just not necessarily what you're looking for).
And there are a lot of much worse filehosters out there (some who force you to pay before being able to download anything and others where you have to install some suspicious programs to download), they're just less famous and usually don't last long...
Don' worry, it won't hurt... that much!
i'm just speaking generally about hotfile. this is not a request thread about anything here. i'm just wondering if there are others that hate hotfile as much as i do
One of the poll options should be: "Yes, there is a worse file sharing service, and I will talk about it below."
It's not like Mediafire is ten times better than every other hosting site or anything. Hotfile only deletes obviously named files, other than that, I get way better speeds as a free user than Filesonic. My speeds are constant and the captchas are readable, unlike Fileserve. Rapidshare changed how free members can download to something decent, now they've switched back to horrible wait times again
.

Megashares is pretty bad with DL speed. Hotfile is better than Megashares. Also, a lot of people complain about slow speeds. I can see them complaining if it is really slow, but I usually get decent speeds with hotfile. It's like everyone wants to download 1GB a second.
People (mainly n00bs) are just to impatient when it comes to downloading,... like 50-200 kb/s are pretty decent when you're free user on most filehosters (since many cap the download speed anyways).
And about the 1GB/s download speed (not that I would dislike having it), even if people had it, they would still complain and want more (a thing in the human nature
)
And true, Megashares sucks balls.
True, it doesn't really has anything to do with EP directly.
Don' worry, it won't hurt... that much!
Another poll option should be: "There is another file sharing service that is kind of bad, but I don't feel comfortable talking about it here."
fileserve also sucks balls. can't just leave it to jd have to be sitting there to type the captcha for every file. the best are mediafire mega upload and rapidshare trailing behind just a little bit with the hourly caps and wait times between files
nothing to do with being a noob... why use what sucks when there's stuff that doesn't?

Guess mainly because those who have these huge waiting times and long capchas for free users do on the other hand mostly "pay" their Uploaders on a x $ per x Download base (Megaupload does pay too, but apparently less than fileserve, filesonic and the likes...)
And lots of people (n00bs mainly) don't even know about JDownloader.
Don' worry, it won't hurt... that much!
