Yep, that seems like the case, the trick is to just use the rocket launcher/secondary weapon. Should take a decent chunk off its health with every shot.I wasn't aware it had two weapons, this is probably where I'm going wrong!

I'll estimate 70-80 hours. I can't really check since Ending D erased my longest save file, and my current one is the speed run save which clocks in at about 6 hours.
It's easily doable in 40-50, but I like to play RPGs at my own pace. Which happens to be nice and slow. Also, I played on hard, which gives the enemies obscene quantities of health.
