My lenses aren't thick but I am blind without my glasses. I can only see something if it's like right on the end of my nose. Proper poor eyesight. I've needed to wear my glasses 24/7 since I was around 10 as I couldn't see shit otherwise.

I'm not blind, but I don't see well without my glasses on. And I need them to drive, anyways.
Basically anything more than two feet away from me is blurry. Last time my glasses broke, I had to work the next day and couldn't afford to miss a shift. Wandering around the back halls, unable to focus on anything, gave me the biggest headache of my life.

Thankfully I didn't have to use the bandsaw that day.
