So about them DS Lites and Acekards...
So from what I understand, an Acekard will not work on a DS Lite that has 1.4 firmware and above. I want to buy a DS Lite but how do I know what firmware it has before I get it? Is there a sku # to go by or a place that's good to buy one? I'd rather not buy a used one. Also, from what I've read on here, a site called Koolds has legit Acekards instead of clones/counterfeits, does anyone know of other American vendors that sell legit Acekards? Sorry if this question is confusing/too long, thanks.

The firmware issue is something you have to worry about with DSi systems, not DS Lites. If you're picking up a Lite, then no matter which particular system you choose, an Acekard should work fine. I used an Acekard 2i with a DS Lite for around a year or so, and I've got one running for my brother, who got a brand new system this past Christmas, with no trouble whatsoever.
If you were picking up a DSi, you could still run an Acekard (as long as it's a 2i model), you'd just need to update the firmware of the card itself using a DS Lite or pre-1.4 DSi system. All new DSis will have the latest firmware installed on them when you buy them.
Also, I got both of the aforementioned cards at KoolDS. It's been a while since I've been in the market for a new flashcart, but they were the cheapest US based site I could find when I was looking for them myself.

Quite welcome. Acekard questions just happen to be among the few topics for which I can actually offer useful information.
