The lowest common denominator sells, and the archetypal otaku has a lot of money to spend. Hence things like body pillows.

I kinda wish the rest of the series was like the first episode. Still a decent show, though. Keep in mind there's a second season. Although it'll be hard to miss. Mostly because the first season ends on one hell of a cliffhanger.

Serieki is awful, mainly because every female character is far too annoying for the interesting plot idea and one really cool character to stand out, not to mention it's overkill even for ecchi. Seriously, when a friend of mine streamed it after we saw a terrible ad for it that made me want to bash my skull in, I became the major downer at the stream and constantly complained over the stupidity of it all. Hell, I think it had frontal nudity faster than the first season of Ikki Tousen did. I'm all for fanservice in a fanservice show, but damn, show just a bit of restraint. The real annoying part is that there's a good idea buried under all the stupid.

And to Monster, yes, Liam O'Brian's Tenma is awesome. In fact, the man is amazing in general. Still convinced his best role was Shin from Tenjho Tenge, just for the best evil laugh I've ever heard.

And damn it, I really need to finish Monster.
