Ah, false alarm with GBATemp. Problem with my hosts file.
It's up to you, obviously.
If I were to watch said videos, it would be to see if you used any strategies other than the ones you described in your initial (recorded) play through. If the game play is similar, just with fewer deaths, then, without commentary, it probably wouldn't hold my interest for terribly long. But that's also probably because I have a ridiculous backlog when it comes to watching LPs.
And that's not to say that someone else might not enjoy it.![]()
/auto-battle over, moar sidequests!
As far as my own watching, I already cleared off the Batman LP so I likely wouldn't rewatch this.
Since I could fill that time with more Crystalis.
But there could be an audience.
Some people prefer to watch these things without commentary.
It's weird, I know.
Oh, I've definitely uploaded worse, as well.
I've picked up a couple of extra strategies. Mostly just getting used to where the enemies spawn, a couple of different tactics for taking down a couple of the bosses a bit faster, etc. It's also easier to control on the NES, so there's a lot less "FUCK YOU COGS OF DEATH!" in the last level, and more "SWISH" as I jump through the narrow openings. I'm still working on my Joker battle plans, though, 'cause I just... can't quite seem to find a method that works for me there.
I've noticed that the majority of the "no-death" or "no-hit" runs on Youtube don't have commentary. I'm assuming this is because they need to concentrate.
I just watched a no-death run that was obviously recorded with an emulator, and while he has pretty much the exact same strategy in all of the same places as I do, there's a couple of parts where he is severely lacking.
Beyond that, though, it would simply be a truncated version of the original run that I already did, where I learned how to beat most of these guys (ie., the two white boxes are SO MUCH EASIER when you're not trying to dodge them all the time and get off one boomerang shot at a time).
I'm going to hold onto it, and if I can't get a recording of a no death run by the end of the weekend, then I'll post it and never play the fucking game again.
Oh, Ray, get in touch with Necro? Or have you decided to just let him do CV?
Hey. I have a gold pip.
... but I only have 9884 rep points...![]()
I really hate when you're trying to follow a guide for something, and they can't tell the difference between east and west.

Haven't seen him around.
He can do it if he wants, I was asking primarily because I offered to do it if no one else will.
Right now I have to finish up some current video stuff, so I won't be starting anything new for a couple days.
Hopefully I find out if he's doing it or not by then. If I don't hear anything, I should just assume he's planning to handle it and commence some new brand of suffering.
But... but... thpoilrth...
Honestly, I try and stay away from guides just for this reason. Half of the people who write them are completely retarded, and the other half either think you should know more about the game than you actually do, or do a very vague job of describing where you need to go.
I'm actually using two at the moment. I usually avoid them myself, but this game kind of makes them necessary, at least if you don't want to waste years of your life trying to do everything just right.
The one who can't tell east from west (and very inconsistently I might add, so I can't just swap the two whenever I encounter one) is a guide that Gare linked me to. It's pretty good at detailing where and when you need to go (which is an issue, when you can time travel and there are only specific moments that you can talk to certain people/have certain options).
The other one is very vague, but if it says something like "go all the way back to the start," I can at least determine if I really do need to go west, or if I should be going east instead.
Of course, I could just watch the true ending on YouTube. But that's not the same. Also, I really like this game and its story, so I don't want to miss all the little bits of dialogue in between.
