That's how Mega Man was starting to feel towards the end. Especially when I kept sitting down and playing X5 and X6... I really don't like those games much at all, I did not have the ambition to finish them.
At least this game is somewhat new (the part that I'm in is new, anyways), so I'm still having fun with it. The commentary is just kind of... lacking.

Also, the character development isnt open ended.

Everyones characters will be exactly the same. No diversity.
Unlike in... like half the games in the series.

    Unless you mean character recruiting.

Anyway, I've heard its very linear, but I still really can't wait to get my hands on it.

However, my pockets are quite turned out, and will be until someone decides to give me money a job.

It's actually not that hard. Go finish it.

    NOW.

If I can beat it, then anyone can.

/killing time waiting for my video to get to the end so I can keep playing.

There are some things that I really like about recording using VirtuaNES. If I fuck up a video and forgot to make a save state at the end of the last one, I can just kill fifteen minutes and watch the old video until the end, then play from there.

Actually, the only post VII FF I didn't care as much for was X, and I STILL really liked it. I just didn't love it.

Pre VII, I'd have to say V was the least fulfilling, but interesting to me because it's often overlooked.

And, of course, FFIV is the best FF of all time.

I mean that the character progression is VERY linear.
You have no choice in how your character develops at all.

And yes, its VERY linear. I beat it without watching a single cut-scene

    I really should.
Its just....well....NES and SNES really arent my thing.

I grew up with PSX and 64. I mean i played NES/SNES too, but never actually owned one.
I think my first games on them were Gradius and zombies ate my Neighbors.

Oh boy, Gradius. Now there's a game worth LPing if it hasn't already.

I think Tan was trying to convince me to do it earlier.

I shall add it to my list.

I love LPing NES games. Not so much later games...

Right, well apart from sidequests, that's how it's mostly been. It's not like Mass Effect or Dragon Age.

Even with the sidequests, you'd really only get more development for the character rather than be in control of the development.
Best case scenario, you get a new character. Worst case, you get some money.

Hell, there were only a few games in the series with more than one ending.

    Also,

    Oh, people are playing FFXII?

    Don't open any chests.

    EVER.

I know it sounds crazy, but just trust me on this.
