The existence of multiple backups in more than one location is possible but depends entirely on Sony's online division having at least some degree of competency, which given how PSN has been down for five days now - to say nothing of the fact that it was apparently compromised in the first place - seems rather unlikely.

And they don't know if credit card information has been stolen.

I refer to my previous post: If they are updating the security it could take a while. Amusing how everyone wanted the PSN down so bad, and now that it's down for real everyone is complaining.

These days it just takes a trip to the bank or a call and your stolen credit problems are fixed, thankfully.

Yeah, but you'd think that they would have a better or a different security platform for that stuff, not all inside of the PSN.

Or something, maybe they really thought PSN was never getting hacked.

Just like how they thought the PS3 would never be hacked.

I was getting glad about the PS3 because FUCKING FINALLY they allowed Mexican cards to be used in their system, you could only get cards at certain stores and $20 PSN cards costed like $35.

When you look around here in Mexico, and see that Microsoft allows credit cards in the Xbox ever since the old hueg one, and that 1500MSP cards are just two dollars more pricey than buying them off from the dashboard, you can see who cares more for this market. Sony said that using Mexican cards was impossible due to security reasons, rofl.

And in this instance I'm sure the banks and card companies will love potentially having to issue hundreds of thousands of entirely new credit card numbers as a direct result of Sony's incompetence.

Not to mention that Sony was selling the PS3 at launch at $800-900 and their prices got decent about only two or one year ago, but that's a different story.
