Actually, at this point, I'm wondering if a ban on "ostentatious" animated signatures, or even a blanket ban on animated signatures altogether might not be best. Worm's signature, for instance, is a good use of animation in signatures - a small signature, with a subtle animation that enhances the overall effect. Unfortunately, it is also very much an exception; generally, animated images in signatures just end up being abused. Yours, as much as I like MLP, is a bit annoying. Sorry. I can't even count how many new members threw at least one copy of that old green blaster smilie into their signature. I regret ever posting that thing here, honestly; it's like an instant red-flag regarding the users that use it. Well, maybe a yellow-flag; I'm sure one or two must have turned out decent in the end, though I can't think of any off the top of my head.
