Rather fun if you can handle the storyline (it runs from pretty cliche to dark as fuck over the course of the entire thing). Also, the amount of love you'll have for it is somewhat dependent on how you feel about sidequests (the bulk of my 30 hours thus far sunk into it is searching out items and doing optional things (IE: farming, fishing, hunting, gathering items). The first time I played this game I finished it in about 12 hours without touching anything aside from the main questline due to earning a friend his speed run trophy. I enjoyed it, but smelling the roses suddenly makes the game a hundred times more fun). And at 30 hours I'm only about 1/5 of the way into Act 2 (the game only has 2 acts). It suffers from a lot of genre shift (the aforementioned RE style dungeon was forgotten possibly because it occurred shortly after a town slash dungeon that's text only and plays like a cross between a visual novel and a text based adventure game, and just before a dungeon that's styled after top down hack and slash e.g. Gauntlet). And for such a depressing game it has its moments of humor. Humor which gets rather odd. Talking in the middle of a boss fight to make a joke about OoT and draw attention to the Link/Navi parallel? Yeah, it happens.
I also appear to have developed an overwhelming love of Weiss. But that's probably because I'm of the opinion that all games can be significantly improved by adding in a smartass sidekick.
